Myocarditis

Myocarditis is limited or diffuse inflammation of heart muscles. It can be primary or part of a systemic disease. The most common type is viral myocarditis. Signs and symptoms of myocarditis include chest pain, heart failure and abnormal heart rhythm. Treatment includes rest, improving myocardial nutrition, controlling heart dysfunction, correcting arrhythmia, and preventing secondary infection.
