Nasal polyps

Nasal polyp is a common nose disease. Nasal polyps are protruding lumps on nasal or sinus mucosa. The shape is like a grape. It is soft and painless. Patients show persistent nasal congestion, decreased sensation of smell, increased nasal discharge, headache and dizziness. Nasal polyps are not tumor. They are often the result of allergy, chronic inflammation and nasal mucosa edema. Oral hormone can be used for early lesions, which can usually reduce the size or eliminate nasal polyps. Sometimes surgery is required to remove the polyps. Nasal polyps can relapse even if they are removed.
