Nephrotic syndrome

Nephrotic syndrome refers to a a condition with a group of symptoms, including protein in urine (>=3.5g/d), low protein blood (<=30g/L), hyperlipidemia (high fat blood) and edema. Severe cases have serous effusion and little or even no urine. Patients with symptoms should rest in bed. Patients should have diet with high quality protein. If you have edema, you should have low salt diet. Avoid food containing animal fat and high cholesterol foods such as egg yolks. Comprehensive treatment is used and adrenal corticosteroids is the main drug.
