Occupational asthma is asthma caused by occupational activities. Typical causes include chemical fumes, gases or dust. People who have occupational asthma should avoid contact with these substances. Main symptoms are same as other asthma, which includes chest tightness, wheezing and shortness of breath. If diagnosed and treated early, it may be reversible. Long-term exposure to these substances may cause allergies or cancer.
