Optic neuritis

Optic neuritis is inflammation of eye nerve bundles which transmit visual signal to brain. It is usually caused by virus infection. Pain and temporary vision loss are common symptoms of optic neuritis. In some cases, optic neuritis may indicate patients have multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis can cause brain and spinal nerve inflammation and injury. For most patients with single episode, vision can generally be fully restored. Steroid hormone can speed up the recovery.
