Osteochondritis dissecans

Osteochondritis dissecans is a joint disease characterized by death of local joint cartilage and bones below it, and separation from the surrounding bones. It most often affects knee. Youth who do a lot of sports are at increased risk. Symptoms include joint pain and swelling. If there are loose tissues in joint cavity, you may feel the joint is locked. Surgery is recommended to avoid further joint damage. If the tissue is still attached, conservative treatment can be taken.
