Cystic lesions of pancreas and peri-pancreatic tissues are called pancreatic cysts. It can be benign or malignant. Pancreatic cysts generally can be divided into true cysts, pseudocysts and cystic tumors. Pseudocyst is the most common type. Most pancreatic cysts are not cancerous and many do not cause symptoms. However, some pancreatic cysts can become cancerous. In principle all pancreatic cysts should be surgically removed except pseudocyst.
