Poison ivy is a common cause of contact skin rash. The rash is small red itching papules. Most people are more or less sensitive to poison ivy or other similar plants. Rash caused by poison ivy is usually not serious and will subside on its own in 1-3 weeks. If the rash area is large or there are a large number of blisters, you should seek treatment immediately.
