Prediabetes means your blood sugar level is higher than normal, but not high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes patients usually have no symptoms so it is difficult to detect. People who have obesity, or suffer from cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases or hypertension are at increased risk. They should monitor blood glucose frequently in order to detect it early. Prediabetes is preventable. Prediabetes patients can prevent it progressing to type 2 diabetes by changing eating habits and exercising. They can even restore to normal blood glucose levels.
