Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

Premenstrual syndrome is a condition that women of childbearing age have some mental, behavioral and physical symptoms 7 to 14 days before the onset of menstruation and they quickly disappear after the period. Symptoms include irritability, anger, headache, anxiety, depression, fatigue, edema, and breast tenderness. These symptoms are closely related with changes in hormone level and menstrual cycle. The cause and mechanism of this disease is still unclear. There is no specific and standardized method of treatment yet. Treatment mainly aims at relieving symptoms.
