Progressive supranuclear palsy

Progressive supranuclear palsy is a brain disease. It usually starts at late middle age. The onset is hidden but aggravates gradually. Symptoms occur 2 to 3 years after the onset. Symptoms include problems with eye movement, walking, balancing, mild dementia, and symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. As the disease progresses, muscles may become very rigid and patients lose mobility. There is no effective treatment yet. L-dopa and Artane can alleviate symptoms.
