Prolactinoma

Prolactinoma is a tumor of brain pituitary gland. It is usually benign. If is more common in women than in men. Symptoms of female patients include sparse period or no period. Nipples secrete milk. Symptom on male patients is mainly sexual dysfunction. Treatment depends on tumor size and symptoms. If the tumor is small and you have no obvious symptoms, it may stop growing by itself. No active treatment is needed. If the tumor is large, it should be actively treated in order to shrink it. Medication is the top choice and bromocriptine is very effective.
