Pseudomonas folliculitis (hot tub folliculitis)

Pseudomonas folliculitis, commonly known as hot tub folliculitis, is caused by an infection of hair follicles due to the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bacterium is commonly found in hot tubs, water slides, and such places. Since children usually stay in the water longer than adults, they are more suscepitable to this disease. Pseudomonas folliculitis appears on the skin as extremely painful and itchy rash. Normally pseudomonas folliculitis does not need treatment. If the symptoms last for longer than 7-10 days, you should see a doctor.
