Recurrent breast cancer

Recurrent breast cancer may occur several months or years after the initial treatment of breast cancer. The location of recurrence can be chest wall, nearby area or breast. For chest wall recurrence, the recurrent lesions should be removed if possible. Regional recurrence often affects lymph nodes within or near breast, above or below collarbone and armpit. Collarbone lymph node recurrence is the most common one. Treatment for recurrence breast cancer depends on the circumstances. The whole breast should be removed in general. Radiotherapy is not recommended.
