Scabies

Scabies is an itchy skin disease caused by invasion of scabies mite. Symptoms include itching, skin blisters or lumps. The main method of treatment is applying drug ointment to the whole body to kill scabies mites. Ointment should be kept on the body for at least 8 hours. Permethrin and Ivermectin are often used. Scabies is very easy to spread. It cannot be washed away by having a bath or shower. To prevent its transmission, anyone who have direct contact with a patient should be treated as well.
