Schwannomatosis

Schwannomatosis is a subtype of neurofibromatosis (NF). It consists of multiple skin schwannomas, central nervous system tumors, and other neurological complications. Symptoms include chronic pain, numbness or weakness in affected parts of the body, and muscle atrophy. Many of the symptoms of schwannomatosis overlap with neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2). If feasible, the schwannomas can be surgically removed. Otherwise, pain management is used to relieve pain.
