Shaken baby syndrome

Shaken baby syndrome is adverse consequences caused by violent shaking of a baby's head. The brain may be injured if a baby is shaken violently. Most cases are infants of 3-8 months old. Symptoms include continuous crying, vomiting, lethargy, drooling, weakness, convulsions, spasms, rapid breath, low body temperature and slow heartbeat. Severe cases can lead to death. Shaken baby syndrome is preventable. The key is to understand the danger of shaking a baby and avoid it.
