Sleep Apnea is a sleeping disorder that breathing can stop for short period of time during sleep. It can be divided into two types: no breathing type (mouth and nasal airflow stops flowing over ten seconds) and the low respiration type (10 second ventilation decreases by 50% or more). Symptoms include excessive daytime sleepiness, insomnia at night, snoring, morning headaches, reduced sexual desire and mental deterioration. If sleep apnea persists, patients may have heart and lung failure symptoms, or even sudden death. Treatment methods vary from person to person. It aims at addressing the causes.
