Soft tissue sarcoma

Soft tissue sarcoma originates from fat, fascia, muscle, fiber, lymph and blood vessels. It affects the elderly more often than the young people. Soft tissue sarcoma is uncommon but it is very serious. Soft tissue sarcoma can occur at any site, but about 75% occurs in legs (most commonly in thigh). It most often spreads to lungs. More than 30% of patients die of the tumor itself, primarily because of lung metastasis. Surgical resection is the main method of treatment.
