Solar urticaria refers to urticaria (hives) that appear in both the covered and uncovered aras of the skin after you are exposed to sunlight. The urticaria can be very itchy and painful. Treatment include antihistamines, light therapy, immunoglobulin E therapy, and immunosuppression.
