Spinal headaches

Spinal cord headache, also known as lumbar puncture headache, is often caused by lumbar puncture. Patients have dull or pulsating pain on back of head or forehead within a few hours after puncture. The pain aggregates when you sit or stand up and improves when lie down. Usually it will disappear within 1 to 3 days. It can last longer in a small number of cases. Patients must remain lying down for more than six hours after lumbar puncture.
