Stickler syndrome

Stickler syndrome is a rare genetic connective tissue disease. The children typically have the following features: flat face, small chin, cleft palate and skeletal abnormalities. The disease can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties. The children have a high chance of deafness, blindness, heart and joint problems. Stickler syndrome cannot be cured, but treatment can help control symptoms and prevent complications. In some cases, you may need surgery to correct a number of physical abnormalities.
