Strep throat

Strep throat is caused by a pharyngitis due to bacterial infection. It is most common in 5-15 year old children. Symptoms include fever, sore throat, throat redness, pus on the uvula, enlarged and tender neck lymph nodes and other respiratory symptoms. Streptococcus laryngitis itself is not dangerous, but if not treated, sometimes it may lead to complications such as kidney inflammation and scarlet fever. It can be cured by using antibiotics of standard dosage for 10 days.
