Temporal lobe seizure

Temporal lobe seizures are epilepsy originating in temporal lobes of brain. It often starts from childhood or adolescence. Many patients have history of febrile seizures and some patients have a family history. Temporal lobe epilepsy attack typically lasts for longer than one minute. Symptoms before attack include abdominal discomfort, burning sensation and fear. Consciousness is damaged when it attacks. You may stop movement and gaze. Pupils dilate at attacks. Drug treatment is primary basic method of treatment and first choice. Surgery can be considered when medication is ineffective. Temporal lobe cut surgery is very effective and the prognosis is generally good.
