Thoracic aortic aneurysm

Thoracic aortic aneurysm is balloon-like dilation of chest aorta. Aortic aneurysms usually grow slowly. Most patients do not have any symptoms. In some patients aneurysm can expand rapidly, causing symptoms including chest pain, lower back pain, coughing, hoarseness or difficulty breathing. If thoracic aortic aneurysm ruptures, it can be fatal. Implantation of artificial blood vessel frame using percutaneous endovascular treatment is less traumatic and can reduce the possibility of paraplegia because arterial blood supply to spinal cord is not interrupted.
