Thyroid nodules

The thyroid is a small gland located at the bottom of neck, just below Adam's apple. Thyroid nodule is a lump inside thyroid which is solid or filled with fluid. Most thyroid nodules are not cancerous and do not cause symptoms. A small portion of thyroid nodules are cancerous. Benign thyroid nodules include nodular goiter and thyroid adenoma etc. Malignant thyroid nodules are primarily thyroid cancer, but also include thyroid lymphoma and metastatic tumors. Treatment of thyroid nodules depends on their type.
