Tinea versicolor is commonly known as sweat stain. It is a common fungal skin infection. Rashes often occur in parts with rich sebaceous glands. Tinea versicolor is more common in men than women. Tinea versicolor can lasts for a long time. Skin lesions are round or almost round rash with sizes from 1 mm to several cm. Rash can reflex light. The surface is covered with very thin chaff-like scales. The majority of patients have diffuse and symmetric skin lesions. There are clear boundaries between rashes and healthy skin. Usually patients have no symptoms besides skin rash. You may feel itching when sweating. Anti-fungal cream is often used for treatment. The color of affected skin will slowly returns back to normal. Ultraviolet light can accelerate the recovery.
