Tourette syndrome is a neuropsychiatric disease occurring in adolescence. It is a chronic disease and lasts for at least one year. The first symptom of Tourette showed movement tics or vocal tics. Movement tics and vocal tics can appear one after another or at the same time. Usually the first symptom is twitching of eyes, face or head, such as eye blinking, crooked mouth movements or shaking head. It gradually spreads to neck, shoulders, limbs or trunk. Blinking eyes are considered to be the most common first symptom of Tourette syndrome. Some children unconsciously speak vulgar or dirty words and often repeat some words or phrases. There was no breakthrough in treatment of this disease yet. Treatment still emphasized on psychological and behavioral treatment, accompanied by drug therapy.
