Toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasmosis is caused by Toxoplasma gondii parasite. Both human and animals can acquire this disease. The disease affects the whole body. It is distributed worldwide and people are generally susceptible. Infection rate generally increases with age. Most human infections are latent infection, with few or no symptoms. The pathogens are difficult to detect using conventional methods. When you immunity is compromised, it can cause central nervous system damage and systemic disseminated infections. Congenital infection often caused fetal malformations with high mortality. Pyrimethamine, sulfadiazine, spiramycin, and clindamycin are known effective drugs.
