Tuberous sclerosis

Tuberous sclerosis is a genetic disease affecting nerves and skin. Disease onset is usually at childhood and it affects more men than women. If often affects patient's brain, skin, peripheral nerves, kidneys and other organs. Symptoms include facial sebaceous tumors, seizures and decreased intelligence. There is no specific treatment of the disease yet. Treatment focuses on controlling symptoms.
