Vasculitis is inflammation of blood vessels. It leads to changes in blood vessel walls, including thickening, weakening, narrowing, or scarring. These changes can restrict or totally block blood flow and cause organ damage. There are many types of vasculitis and the symptoms vary greatly from type to type. Common symptoms include feer, headache, fatigue, pain, numbness and weakness. Common medications include corticosteroids and steroid-sparing drugs. Sometimes blood vessel aneurysm and blockage require surgical treatment.
